The TP series transmitters use a piezoresistive or ceramic type strain gauge sensor. The measuring principle involves 4 strain gauges (diffused on a silicon chip or deposited on a ceramic membrane) which form the sides of a Wheatstone bridge. Each pressure variation is detected by the deformation of the sensor and results in an output voltage from the bridge proportional to the applied pressure.
